Barnstormin' Tour 2005

Posted Apr 11, 2005

Last year Blake Stepp helped organize a game that raised nearly $10,000 for Coaches vs. Cancer. This year Brian Michaelson is continuing the tradition and has lined up an exciting game for the same charity at SFCC, April 23, 7:00pm.

Wooden Award candidate and All-American Ronny Turiaf headlines an all-star field of regional college players who have exhausted their eligibility for the 2nd annual Barnstormin' Tour at Spokane Falls Community College.

The event will be held at 7:00pm on April 23, and will once again benefit Coaches vs. Cancer.

Rosters are almost set, and like last year, there will be future NBA talent involved. Joining Turiaf will be EWU star Marc Axton, and possibly some star players from UW and WSU.

Local high school stars range from the best of the Greater Spokane League, some standouts from smaller, surrounding schools, and Derek Raivio's younger brother Nik (a pure sharpshooter) and Junior College stars Jeremy Mangum and Kyle Janke, to name just three.

Fans can purchase tickets at Jack & Dan's, Spokane Athletic Supply and all area Les Schwab Tire stores. Les Schwab will only sell $10 upper level seats. $15 lower level seats can be purchased at the other two outlets.

Fans will also have a chance to meet the players, win memorabilia and get autographs.

GUnation.com encourages all basketball fans to make the drive to SFCC and watch the best basketball players in the Northwest and help support a great cause while doing so.
