Recruiting Season to Begin

Posted Apr 13, 2006

2007 recruits like Austin Daye, Zane Johnson or Omondi Amoke may be the focal points of recruiting season, but look for Gonzaga coaches to be keeping an eye on 2008 and 2009 prospects such as Andy Poling and Brad Tinsley as well. It all begins and ends in Las Vegas.

The Gonzaga coaches are at an advantage with two recruits already committed for 2007. With Robert Sacre and Steven Gray having already given a verbal to the Zags, the GU coaches can focus on a smaller number of players in that class while doing plenty of evaluating for 2008 and beyond.

Starting with the Las Vegas Easter Classic on April 14th, the staff will travel the country, evaluating talent in the 2007, 2008 and 2009 classes.
