Gonzaga
University is predicted to win the EA
SPORTS™ Maui Invitational, beating Maryland,
79-74. The results were generated by an official EA SPORTS™
simulation using NCAA®
Basketball 10,
available
now for the Xbox 360® video game system from Microsoft and the PlayStation®3
computer entertainment system.
According
to the simulation, Maryland will eliminate host Chaminade in the first round,
and take out Vanderbilt in the Semifinals, advancing the Terrapins to the
Championship game. Gonzaga will beat Colorado in the first round, and go on to
take a decisive victory over Wisconsin, 68-59, before overcoming Maryland in the
finals, 79-74. This will be the first time the Gonzaga Bulldogs take home a Maui
Invitational Championship and their third trip to the tournament. Vanderbilt and
Wisconsin will play hard for the third place title in the consolation round,
which will fall to Vanderbilt after it defeats Wisconsin by a nine point spread,
74-65.
The Maui
Invitational Tournament, which commences on November 23rd, will be
captured by EA SPORTS in a series of behind-the-scenes videos that document the
action, excitement, preparation, and fanfare that doesn’t make it to
broadcast. Fans on the mainland can follow the progress of their favorite
participating schools such as Arizona, Maryland, Cincinnati, and Gonzaga as they
advance through the tournament. EA will also be providing handheld cameras to
fans, families, mascots, and other individuals associated with the tournament to
document their trip to Maui. Daily
